Lawyers as Media Brands: The New Rainmaking
Partners with newsletters, podcasts and short-form video are winning work. AI tools are lowering the barrier to entry for everyone else.

The modern rainmaker does not only work the room at bar dinners. She publishes a weekly analysis read by 12,000 in-house lawyers and repurposes it into clips, threads and talks.
AI has compressed the cost of that content engine. Drafting, transcription, editing and distribution that once required an agency can now be managed by a single marketing coordinator with the right tools.
The risk is sameness. When every firm can generate a competent client alert in minutes, competent becomes invisible. The firms breaking through pair AI-assisted production with a distinct point of view.
Our advice: use AI for speed, never for voice. Clients hire people, and the content that wins work still sounds like one.
